My Story

A little about me

I'm Bithi Sarkar, a Melbourne-based communications and media professional with a curiosity for ideas, people and the stories that shape how we see the world.

My interests sit at the intersection of media, strategic communications, creativity and culture, although I've never been particularly good at limiting my curiosity to just one thing.

I enjoy understanding what makes people connect, how ideas take shape and the role communication plays in bringing them together.

The journey so far

My journey began at Monash University, where I completed a Bachelor of Media Communication, specialising in Public Relations, followed by a Master's in Strategic Communications Management.

While my studies introduced me to the many facets of communication, it was through practical experiences that I began discovering where my interests truly lay.

I've had the opportunity to explore different sides of the communications landscape, from public relations and digital communications to media planning, strategy and client relationships.

Today, I work as a Client Solutions Executive at Hatched, a media agency in Melbourne. My experience has given me a greater appreciation for the thinking, collaboration and problem-solving that sit behind effective media and communication strategies.

Each experience has added another perspective to the way I approach my work and the industry around me.

What interests me

I'm particularly interested in how people, brands and ideas communicate.

From the evolving media landscape and the influence of technology to creativity, culture and the changing ways we consume information, there's always something new to question and explore.

I'm equally interested in the personal side of growth: navigating change, finding your direction, learning along the way and remaining open to possibilities you might not have anticipated.

I believe curiosity is one of the most valuable things we can hold on to, both professionally and personally.

Beyond the work

Outside my professional life, I'm someone who enjoys discovering new perspectives, exploring different experiences and finding meaning in the everyday.

I value thoughtful conversations, continuous learning and the little moments that often give us something to reflect on.

I'm still finding my feet in many ways, and I think there's something quite meaningful about allowing yourself the room to evolve.

Why Notes & Perspectives?

I created Notes & Perspectives as a space to bring together the things I'm interested in, the experiences that shape me and the ideas I find worth exploring.

The Journal is where I share personal reflections, experiences and observations.

The Perspective is where I explore media, communications, strategy, creativity and the ideas shaping the world around us.

Together, they represent two sides of the same curiosity: looking inward, looking outward and making sense of everything in between.

This isn't a finished story or a definitive collection of answers. It's an ongoing record of learning, thinking, questioning and becoming.

I'm glad you're here.
